pr3dict 33 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 So I've tried a bunch of stuff now and cannot seem to get direct play working on my windows client (which is the only thing i've tried) I can access the folder via windows explorer and click on it and play it directly in my media player so I know its not a permissions thing. Is it maybe a path substitution problem? Also, I have the bitrate set to the highest so I know its not a network speed issue.

Luke 42077 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Emby for WMC can direct play just about everything. what you want to do is make sure it has direct access to the media paths, so start by sharing them on the network. then take a look at our wiki on library setup: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Library%20Setup Specifically the section at the bottom called Path Substitution can help you tell the server how emby for wmc can reach those shared paths.
