Jivebunny 1 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Recently I've been having problems with not being able to see all my media on Media Browser 3 client. For example I have a folder named TV series and some of the folders should show content are now showing a red tick against it and displays 0 of 0 instead of 1 of 1 or 1 of 2. The library scan goes through OK but it does not seem to be picking up all the content in the folders. I had no problem with this until the most recent release of the server. I’m running Media Server 3.0.5115.35703. I've tried deleting the library file and running a complete new scan but again it’s still not picking all content. There has been no change in the folder structure since the upgrade. This is driving me nuts as I’m limited as to what I can watch. Any help appreciated?
ebr 16169 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 This does sound like a structure problem as opposed to anything with MBC. Is it the same situation in the web client?
Jivebunny 1 Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 No, it's fine on the web client. I can play back those that are show empty on Media Browser 3
ebr 16169 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Please post a screen shot of what you see in both MBC and the web client.
Jivebunny 1 Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 I've miss informed you. It's the same in the web client. As you can see there's a number one in each where I can't view the content. I can't send a screen shot at the moment of the actual media browser as I'm working remotely on the server.
ebr 16169 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Yeah, this is a structure problem. It isn't properly recognizing those items. What is the structure of the media in the folders?
Jivebunny 1 Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 F:\TV Series\Sleepy Hollow1 - 10\Sleepy Hollow S1E01 Located in folder Sleepy Hollow S1E01 is... Jpeg image called folder xml document called movie MP4 file called Sleepy.Hollow.S01E01 The only difference I can see in the other folders I can play back is the MP4 file is named differently for example sleepy.hollow.109
ebr 16169 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 "Sleepy Hollow1-10" is not likely to be recognized as a series. Does that folder contain a series.xml file?
ebr 16169 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 no just a movie xml file Well there is your problem. Delete that for sure and rename the folder to "Sleepy Hollow". Still, with no season folder, I'm not sure if it will recognize it as TV though...
ebr 16169 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I would either set the collection type at the top level to TV or create season folders to guarantee proper recognition.
Jivebunny 1 Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 ok thanks will try this when I get home. Thanks for you help. Will post results later
Luke 42077 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 more web client screenshots please, and screenshots of the folders in windows explorer
Luke 42077 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Can I assume screenshots are coming later then, because in order to help I need the information I request.
Luke 42077 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 ok. deleting the movie xml might fix it. a series shouldn't have that.
Luke 42077 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 although if you have movie.xml inside all of your episode folders, then they'll all need to deleted as well.
Luke 42077 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 actually nevermind. i don't think that will fix it.
Luke 42077 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 you either need a Season 1 folder as Ebr says or put the episode file directly in the series folder. either way you should review the library wiki because it goes over what is supported
