Emby control using IRule, MCEcontroller or Eventghost

Hey everyone,

Need some information from anyone using IRule remote app to control Emby.  Interested if you needed MCEcontroller and/or Eventghost.

 

Whats the easiest way to control Emby using IRule?

It depends on whether you are using a IR receiver on your htpc, if that is the case you can program irule to send out MCE remote commands. If you are using IP then you would need to use eventghost and have it send the keypresses to Emby Theater.

I will be using IP control.  Maybe I misunderstood MCEcontrol but I thought it worked over IP, simulating key strokes.

It might, I don't know much about MCEControl, but I have used eventghost to exactly what you are suggesting with Irule.
