Guest Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Hi, it seems that some TV shows are duplicated where I have different seasons spread across different hard drives (due to space), is it possible that they could all be merged into one parent folder for the show, then the separate folders for each season and specials. Forum searching suggests that you call this 'pooling'. Thanks!

Luke, Currently running 3.1.41 and enjoying the increased performance and responsiveness. I can confirm that TV Pooling definitely works, but would like to know if there is an option in settings, or will be in the future to disable this feature? Since setting up Emby Server way back when, I set up a separate TV LIBRARY for 480p and 720p archived TV Series seasons and a separate DVR LIBRARY for HQ DVR recordings thru WMC for current TV Seasons. This has allowed a clean distinction between my current DVR Library and my archived TV Library. Now, that is gone. My libraries are still separate as choices to enter, but for TV Series that I have both archived and DVR seasons, they are all mixed together. Any chance that there will be an option to manage how we would like to treat separate libraries of the same TV Series Name? I know you have had discussions in the LIVE TV forum about how best to manage this going forward. I currently don't use the Emby Live TV or Live TV Plugins. I used ServerWMC in the past, but eventually just found it much easier to let WMC record as usual and then move the DVR recordings into their own separate DVR Library with all of the advantages of Emby's metadata treatment. 1

I would also like the option to disable pooling please, i split my libraries up a certain way for a reason to keep them separated from others, the series pooling has messed up my emby theater to a point im confused on where im up to with shows etc. 3

Lots of people DO want the feature, it's been a top request since just about forever. Stuff goes through beta without complaint and then they find edge cases like this. It will be fixed. 1

On reading the forum there are quite a lot of people who DON'T want this feature but are quite happy to have it included but with the option to turn it off. I spend a lot of time and money on my library so it gets a bit much when, what was my main media player, makes a complete balls up of it. I understand that Emby is a continuing work in progress and has come on a long way in the last 6 months but in my opinion there MUST be more options given in the server so people can use it their own way that suits their use and libraries etc. 1

This feature is interesting for "lots of people" but certainly not for "everyone", myself included. So this feature must be an option. I paid to support the development of Emby (lifetime subscription) and I think I have the right to request this option to be optional.
jds828 24 Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 In the beta I read about and I'm using for now, It only pools per library. This seems to work well for me as my media is well sorted out. It took the media scanner a while to sort it back but looks ok now. I didn't want to run beta on this server but needs won in this case.

You would have to see the other topic on this to understand that tatumana has multiple languages of the same series in the same library. 1
