BobbyDing 56 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) I hope I'm in the correct sub-forum. I have two working Emby servers. One on Windows and one Docker. Both work fine running together when accessed inside the network. However I'd also like to access them both outside the network. So I left my main windows server using the standard ports (8096,8920) and it works well through my router via UPNP. For the Docker server I've mapped 8096 & 8920 to 8097 & 8921 respectively under the Emby advanced settings. The router UPNP sees the new ports and looks like it's mapped them correctly. Both servers are signed on to Emby Premiere. Docker Emby plays media just fine inside the network, and I can see and load the Docker Emby outside the network, but no Docker media will play outside the network. I shut down the main Emby Windows server so there is not confusion between the two. Still no joy. My router does support UPNP, and if I change the Docker ports back to the standard numbers, running alone, the Docker server works as it should outside the network. What I'm doing wrong here. I'd just like to access both servers remotely. Thanks for any assistance. Bobby Edited June 21, 2016 by BobbyDing
Luke 42085 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Have you made sure they both have their own dedicated ports with the router?
BobbyDing 56 Posted June 21, 2016 Author Posted June 21, 2016 Thank You for responding. Yes. they appeared via UPNP and looked correct (below). I suppose I could try to install them manually instead.
Luke 42085 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 That's HTTP and HTTPS. So for two servers that would mean 4 public ports. So you need to pick one of the two servers and customize the public ports under advanced - housing
BobbyDing 56 Posted June 21, 2016 Author Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) I thought that is what I'm doing here? The main server is left alone at 8096 and 8290 (int & ext). The new one is set to (externally) 8097 and 8291. I shut off the main server last night, so 8096 & 8290 should not be in play (externally). Or am I misunderstanding this? Also an update. I added my dynamic dns to the advanced settings and I am able to stream a video to my tablet using https and the dynamic dns host name. But live TV fails with "Playback Error: There was an error processing the request. Please try again later.". When I log in locally, the TV plays fine. Maybe of note, the tuner is an HDHR Extend that's set to use the tuner to encode, if that might mean anything. Edited June 21, 2016 by BobbyDing
Luke 42085 Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 well then if you can do that then there are no more connectivity problems it seems
BobbyDing 56 Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 I believe you are correct!! I'll head over to the TV sub-forum then with the remaining issue. Thanks for the help Luke.

You'll need to be sure it isn't trying to direct stream over the WAN as it wouldn't be able to access the tuner that way - unless you also setup external port mapping for it.
