JDizzy 21 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I have Server and Client (Emby Theater) running on same machine (i5 Windows 10, 8gb ram). It is the only thing on this machine which is dedicated to being a HTPC. All is loaded on an internal 500gb SSD which also contains my music files. There are 15K songs and about 500 artists. When accessing Artists from Emby Theater, it takes about 10-15 seconds to load the artists screen with the circle spinning while it waits. Loading the albums, (about 900), takes considerably longer. I have used Plex and it loads artists/albums almost instantaneously. Are there any suggestions on how to speed up the process with Emby? Possibly caching the images or? Thanks
legallink 187 Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 It does cache the images, it really depends on your caching drive. I put my cache on an SSD and the speed improvement was substantial.
JDizzy 21 Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 Thanks for your reply. I have everything on an SSD and all is quite snappy except for the music area. I figure it must be due to having to load 15000+ files and everything involved. I do hope a process is implemented to speed this up. Another thing I noticed is: One of my playlists has about 1500 songs in it. I can shuffle it, play and do about everything but edit it. If I try to edit it, Emby loads about 100 or so titles but everything below that I can not get to, or see. Strange.
