Low codec support?

Recommended Posts

At least 80-90% of my videos do not work. As all playes I use (Dragon Player and VLC Media Player) have absolutely no problem with these, this seems to be an error.

How do I configure this correctly?

Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1) | Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a) | .mp4

Kubuntu 15.10 | 16gb RAM | Core i7

EDIT: found error

Emby4Linux seems to run ffmpeg as some strange user, neither system user or group nor root. Therefore permission denied for ffmpeg.

So here a "Feature Request": a readable error message not only "failed" :)

I will test the file but please see post #2 as your issue is probably environment-specific. The video your testing is a plain mp4 so if we couldn't handle that then we'd obviously have a serious problem on our hands.

The Emby linux package creates a system user called Emby, so that's what that is. But normally it's not necessary to manually configure permission to execute ffmpeg.
