all4dom 101 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Hey Guys, just a quick question....Can VOB files be played back in MBC with lav filters installed. I am not getting anything and after searching the forum and in the LAV filter settings, I can't find anything about vob file playback. Thanks Dominick
Latchmor 584 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) I was about to ask the same thing! I was getting the correct audio passed to my soundbar with MBT but not with MBC. What I have tried is to use a utility called MCDU (Media Center Decoder Utility) which changes the default decoders for Media Center. I didn't really want to do this as I was worried it would mess up live/recorded tv but so far so good. Try it from here at your own risk (Make a Restore Point first!) http://thedigitallifestyle.com/w/index.php/2009/04/14/announcing-mcdu-the-media-center-decoder-utility-replaces-vmcd/ The page shows other decoders but same applies to LAV as long as it's installed. I only changed the audio by the way. I'd rather an option to leave Media Center in general alone and just force MBC to use LAV but not sure if that's possible or even if it matters! Just worried I break the TV part! Cheers Edited January 5, 2014 by Latchmor
all4dom 101 Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 Thanks but I just converted the files to MKV. Makes it easier.
Latchmor 584 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 No prob. Actually, reading that back I was talking about Audio only you were talking about VOBs in general, oops! My Vobs have always played fine in MBC within a VIDEO_TS folder. I was trying to get the correct audio with LAV and was about to post and misread your post. At least you have it sorted!
