Luke 42077 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Hi After downgrade mono to version 4.2 everything on chromecast works fine. Thanks for help. Regards Artur Thanks for the update. Just FYI, with the beta server I have posted some changes for mono 4.4. I am not positive all of the 4.4 issues are resolved yet, but just so you're aware.
aswieton 0 Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 Thanks for info i will try on different server. Again thank you for your help.
Crestj 68 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 I know this is a really old thread but it describes the symptoms I am experiencing now. I'm assuming any fix that was discussed (mono) would have made it into the product a long time ago already! Logs are attached. The behaviour happens on all video files, starting from start or resume. On this particular occasion I started the video from the start and a few seconds in it jumped to 10 minutes in. server Log.txt transcode Log.txt

Crestj 68 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 OK, transcoding set to NONE. Will report back after a few tests.
Crestj 68 Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Sadly with transcoding still set to None it has started skipping again.
Crestj 68 Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Started streaming to the chromecast and it immediately jumped in 5 minsembyserver.txtffmpeg-transcode-f4e90d4a-931c-44ff-990a-b1c058503b1d.txt
Luke 42077 Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 That ffmpeg log isn't valid. What does "jumped" mean?
Crestj 68 Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Sorry those logs aren't logs at all! I'll upload them soon. It starts playing the video for about a second or 2 then skips forwards to 5 minutes in.
Crestj 68 Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 (edited) Here you go. Seems there are a lot of these: "Past duration too large" Past duration 0.990013 too largePast duration 0.999992 too largeframe= 89 fps= 25 q=21.0 size= 575kB time=00:02:40.63 bitrate= 29.3kbits/s dup=0 drop=1 speed=45.2xPast duration 0.993004 too largePast duration 0.995995 too largePast duration 0.989006 too largePast duration 0.998985 too largePast duration 0.991997 too large A successful stream to the chromecast (after a few more tries) shows none of these messages. Server Log.txt transcode Log.txt Edited May 5, 2018 by Crestj
Crestj 68 Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Tried a few others, some work but some fail. Attached log of failed video, same position too large messages in only the failed transcode logs. transcode Log.txt
Luke 42077 Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Can you provide a sample video for testing? I'm unable to reproduce this. Thanks.
Crestj 68 Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 Without making the original file available I'm not sure how I would do this. If I cut the first 10 minutes to make available it would involve re-encoding it and therefore (possibly) resolving the issue with the decoding, would it? Below is the media info which may mean something: It only happens on some videos but I've yet to determine the link. I assume the "Past duration 0.998985 too large" messages in the failing logs mean nothing?
Luke 42077 Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 What if you try something that doesn't need transcoding? For example, an mkv with h264 & ac3
Crestj 68 Posted May 12, 2018 Posted May 12, 2018 Just noticed that I had the max bit rate set to 2mb which was the reason it was transcoding everything. I used the convert method in Emby (nice feature!) on the same movie. Unfortunately if I play either version (direct stream or transcode) I can;t get it to skip now! I've also now set it to Auto bit rate for Chromecast. I'll keep testing and try and find a common cause if it continues.
