ROKU - Videos showing emby in action

Okay, to start this off here is blue neon night theme. This is sort of a random video of me just meandering around trying to show some of the differences between the official app. A picture is 1000 words then a video is worth a million?

 

 

Comments and ratings have been intentionally disabled. Any questions? Anyone else have some user submitted videos supporting the roku? Feel free to post links to them here. Alot of users are curious how the roku looks and operates compared to other clients here is your example.

 

The roku has a primitive display, this can't be argued away, it looks "pedestrian". Ebr once used this to equate my term "roku-like" to a real word. This "pedestrian" look becomes immediately obvious comparing to androidTV, appleTV, theater, the web client. So many look better it is clear the roku isn't chosen for her looks. It's the other things roku does besides emby that make it stand out.

 

The claim can be made the roku interface is clunky/wonky and in the video clearly it is. Alot of apps using the same tired design over and over. But it is also going on 8 years old as a device, and emby on it is 3 years old as an app. It is getting a little grey near the ears. Needs a facelift, and neck tuck. A really clean and updated look. Roku has given the tools to accomplish this. Developers just need to start adapting to incorporate them. The future looks bright, gotta wear shades. Bright neon blue.

 

Note: my fan was on in the background. That is the weird rushing air sound in the background. It gets hot in California.
