UNC Paths for Users

Hi just installed another user and am trying to get things to play. I can see all the folders and artwork etc but when I try and play I get a message,

 

"cannot directly access media, will attempt to stream. Use UNC paths on the server to directly access madia"

 

I have the path set as follows , \\NICK_MCE_2\Box Sets. This is the same path I use for another machine which works fine.

 

I must be missing something, any ideas.

Make sure the new computer can see that share outside of MB3. Usually, you want shares to be with Everyone on at least the read level. Some devices might not be able to see hidden shares, that is ones with a $ at the end of their name.

I've go everything shared to everyone both read and write. I can access all the media through the network or homegroup and can play everything in media centre.

 

Shouldn't be this hard,  Any ideas where I would find the logs for this.

You can turn on logs in the server dashboard under Advanced and view them under Help.

It was a firewall problem, I solved it.
