Hey guys, so bear with me I wasn't sure where this topic should go so if it needs to be moved I apologize in advance.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience, ideas, or had ever thought about ways to use a ticket system for their Emby users. I bring this up because I currently have quite a few family members viewing media remotely. Pretty regularly one of them will have a request for a movie\tv show I haven't ripped yet or they'll find a problem with playback, etc. I end up with a mishmash of text messages, emails, or phone calls vaguely describing the problem, some of them from weeks after the problem occurred. It would be nice to have everything in one place clearly laid out.

I'm not opposed to setting up a website with a ticket system embedded into it. But the whole idea behind this would be to minimize the effort on the end-user side and eliminate the need for them to go jump through a bunch of hoops. Like many of you here I am a former Plex user. On the Plex side someone was toying around with a ticket system that allowed for problem reports or requests rather simply. I hope it's not taboo to link to the Plex forums but here goes nothing (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/205889/plexy-issue-and-requests-ticketing-system). It never really got off the ground but something similar would be awesome.

Is anyone doing something similar in the Emby community? Or do any of you struggle with ways for your viewers to report\request back to you? I'd like to hear from anyone who has found a solution or even people who are in the same boat as me and looking for ideas. It's funny that my server has grown to this point, it started off just being viewed by me, now my family uses it more than I do :)

I also get the random texts/emails from my fam that use the platform.  Usually it isn't enough that I worry about it as it is here and there.

I'm getting around to writing something like Plex requests for Emby. It will have functionality similar to what you're looking for.

Yeah it wasn't for me at first either, but now I've got a couple dozen regular uses and I'm basically looking for an easier streamlined way for them to give me feedback that isn't a text or voicemail. Sometimes they don't even bother to tell me that something's not working right. I guess in the end it's not necessary in any way, but it would be way cooler.

Awesome, another CT resident :). Wish I had any sort of programming background I'd offer to give you a hand. I'm more in the Network\Server architecture side of technology.

Github?

You can get people to raise issues.

That's what Emby, and many other software developers, use.

Just a thought.

Yea, I'm currently doing web security type stuff. I was a developer in a former life so I figured I'd take a stab at it.

Yeah I'm looking for something a little more streamlined and "pretty" my users aren't exactly the most technologically savvy people on the planet. That's why I'm hosting the server and not them :). If I can tell them "go to this bookmarked webpage\app\whatever and fill in these fields in this nice little form", we'd all be happy. It was a struggle just getting some of them to learn how to use the Chromecast.

Nothing against github btw, just saying...

If they have Smart phones, you could get them to install the Github app.

Try one of the free packages from Slack, Glip or install a messenger like Discord and have them all go through the one space.

I'm going to try out Slack for now. I never really thought about using a messaging app to be honest. I work in IT so I always go back to some sort of ticket system. But for now we'll see how Slack works out. I'm still interested to hear any other ideas though!

I've used WhatsApp & Hangouts but now I've settled on Google Spaces. However some form of messaging through the emby interface would be awesome.
