Disorganise 15 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Tonight was the only thw second time I think I tried to watch a movie through ET and I hit several bugs/issues.... 1) DVD format (video ts folder)....found I got get past the DVD menu because ot wouldn't recognise the selection clicks. Ok or play basically got interpreted as interacting with the overlay (back, pause, forward, sound, cc). If I played same movie through emby android it would play straight to the movie (bypass DVD menu), but when I tried to "cast" it it reverted to the DVD menu on the TV (ET on win10). 2) A couple of movies would play for about 30 seconds and then return to the selection screen like I'd hit stop. 1st time I assumed corrupt file. 2nd time was odd. 3rd time nearly resulted in broken things. 3) after getting a movie to play, there was some foreign speech in it. So around 13 mins in I tried to enable subtitles. On screen just disappeared before selection. So I went to my Android and noticed the movie was registered as playing so I had the remote control option.....went in there and selected English subtitle. Movie stopped and went back to selection/synopsis screen. Resume..would briefly start but fail back to selection screen after a second. Only option to play from start....then use skip....got to about 6 mins and I'm back looking at selection screen. I even pulled out the mouse and tried to drag the indicator but would still end up back at selection.....so I can only watch from the beginning it seems. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
ebr 16178 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Are all of the movies you tried video_ts DVD folder rips?
Disorganise 15 Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 No, only one was. Two movies that would only play for about 30 seconds are AVI's. The one I mention in problem 3 is an MKV. I'm looking at the folder structure and in the root next to the mkv is a 160KB srt file. Then there's a subfolder "subs" with 4 srt files; english(chinese) 6KB, english 81KB, Portuguese 74KB and Spanish 72KB. I don't really understand how subtitles are supposed to work but maybe there's some problem here since selecting subtitle caused the stopped in the 1st place. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
Disorganise 15 Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 Interesting..... I got the above info via another PC (the emby server & emby theatre pc is awkward to use with keyboard/mouse). So i fired up the emby web interface and started the "3" movie (mkv). It started playing and let me drag back to the 13 mins section. What's more, selecting subtitles eng gave me subtitles. The audio was way out of sync but aside from that it was working. So I went back to one of the AVIs.....and voilla. It played passed the 30 second mark. It also seemed much less "blocky" than it did through ET Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
berrick 30 Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I'm seeing similar avi playback issue's, plays approx 30 seconds then stops, then wont play at all. this is using web browser on samsung tv. Same avi on PC is fine
Disorganise 15 Posted June 7, 2016 Author Posted June 7, 2016 I ended up playing the file bu double clicking and letting whatever the default win 10 player is, handle it.....bonus...I could stil pause/play using my remote. Doesn't handle the dvd files though....might need to install TMT that I bought years ago. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
