Two_toNe 0 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I have been searching for the last couple days for an answer & have not found it. I have a machine with KODIBuntu on it with EMBY Server loaded too. The problem i have is I cannot log onto EMBY from my desktop. I can get to it through Samba without a problem. I tried disabling my firewall to make sure that wasn't what is stopping it, still nothing. Emby is loading fine & I can connect to it in the browser on the KODIBuntu machine. I am very much a Linux noob so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Luke 42077 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Hi, welcome. I know you said you checked, but if you can't access from another machine then it is probably firewall related.
puithove 209 Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Ubuntu-based distros use their "UncomplicatedFirewall": https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UncomplicatedFirewall You can ensure it's disabled for testing by running this from the shell on the kodibuntu machine: sudo ufw disable and you can check the status to make sure it's disabled by running this: sudo ufw status After that, make sure that you are using the correct IP address and port in your URL... http://<ip-address-of-kodibuntu-machine>:8096/web If that's not working, it'd help if you posted more info - such as the URL you're using to access it locally, the URL you're using to access it from another machine, what error is showing in the browser, description of what happens such as "it seems to take a long time" or "it comes back with error right away". 1
