Bug: Playback possible although not allowed by admin

hey

created a user who should only be allowed to download media, not to play it back.

Unfortunately this doesn't work, the play symbol is still available on the covers and playback still works fine.

Just tested this on Dev 3.1.5997.20342 and Stable 3.0.59720 and can replicate being able to play via card overlay play buttons.  Play is removed from item details page.

 

 

Current work around custom css removing/hiding the play button overlay

Ideally this would also be fixed at the endpoint, not just by hiding the playback button.

This is being resolved for the next release. Play buttons are not going to be hidden, we will just catch it at a low level when we're actually going to begin playing. So we'll catch that and display a friendly message. Thanks.
