Automatically update library when new files added

I've just started looking at Emby and I can't seem to find any way to have it automatically update the library as new files are added.  I can't even find a way to force an update.  If i click that button it gives me a message about how this is "usually" a scheduled task and then I'm taken to the scheduler.

So two questions: 

1) Can Emby be set to monitor my media location and update when new files are added,and

2) Can I manually start a library update.

 

I'm running Emby in a Docker on an unRaid 6.x server.

Hi, welcome. Under library -> advanced, you can enable the realtime monitor.

 

The message about being a scheduled task is just for your own information. You can always run the task manually if you wish, but the one-time message is just to let you know that it will happen on it's own automatically.

Yes it is supported. The option is under each library and it is on by default, so there's nothing you need to do to enable it.

I'm not seeing this option either.

Gear (top right) > Server (left side) > Library > Advanced

There is a button to Scan Libraries now, but no auto-watch update button on/off.

Hi, in the Libraries tab click on a Library first. Then it's the realtime monitor option.

@Luke got it, thanks! Hadn't seen  that sub-menu.

Settings > Server > Library > Movies (middle right collection with various icons) > Enable real time monitoring
