shilep 1 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I'm fairly new to Emby, but had the server running nicely for a month or so on a Window 8.1 machine. Yesterday, as a result of trying to better understand how and change the way media files were displayed in subfolders, I ended up trying to uninstall and reinstall the server. This was unfortunate as now I have a mess. I tried to uninstall Emby via "Programs and Features" in the Control Panel. This seemed to crash and I doubt that it was fully uninstalled. I then downloaded Windows Emby server setup.exe from emby.media webpage, but it won't run. The error I get is, "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor." The error Details file is attached. I then ran the Portable Installation as instructed - unzipped the system folder and ran MediaBrowser.ServerApplication. This placed numerous folders on my desktop (ffmpeg, logs, config, ssl, localization, root, data, metadata, cache). The server seems to run in that the title of my library is display, but none of the movie files or library subfolders are visible. Can anyone offer help? Application cannot be started - Details File.txt
Luke 42081 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Hi, welcome. If you want to use the installer, you can try this: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/10553-cannot-install-server-or-mbtemc/&do=findComment&comment=132315
shilep 1 Posted May 31, 2016 Author Posted May 31, 2016 Thanks. That got setup.exe running again, but I get the following error as the server is being installed: Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\peshile\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\2JVTZNHD.593...\MediaBrowser.Server.Intaller.exe' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.
