Nvidia Shield TVBitstream DTS-HD & Dolby TrueHD

hi guys any idea when you guys will add Bitstream to DTS-HD & Dolby TrueHD to nvidia shield tv we really need this, thanks in advanced

For my own education, can you tell me what Emby uses for it's underlying software (which is what I am assuming you are referring too)? Are you talking about the video player itself? Exoplayer? VLC?

 

I'm using a Shield TV so it has been advertised as fully supporting all the bitstreaming formats.

 

And let me throw this out there for everybody that it takes time, money, sweat, tears, and broken families to make this stuff work. Bitstreaming on android is a relatively new development when compared to HTPCs and standalone players. We all need to be patient, appreciative, and helpful when we can.

thanks ebr, i dont want start a troll topic im just trying to understand, why i can bitstream with kodi and plex "DTS-HD Only" but not with Emby?

If you read the Plex forums, you'll see plenty of people saying that DTS-HD only works sometimes.

The decision on which player to use is quite complex actually so the answer is still "it depends".

 

You can tell by looking at the OSD.

Pretty sure the  kodi app in the store does not support bitstreaming yet. Though the spmc app does.  Bottom line is Kodi uses its own internal player and is not dependent on VLC or whatever to implement bitstreaming.

well plex DTS-HD work fine on my shield and never have a problem, and i also use spmc and one especial kodi build for shield bitstream HD Audio and they bitstream fine, anyways hope you guys can get this working, thanks for everyting
