RedBaron164 18 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I have some OTA stations that show up in Emby from my HDHomeRun tuner that either do not have strong enough signal or I just don't ever watch them so I'd like to be able to hide/disable them so they do not show up in the guide. Is this currently at all possible? I haven't been able to figure out a way of doing it yet. If I have to modify a config file somewhere I'm ok with that.
ebr 16192 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Look in your HDHR configuration app and disable them there. 1
RedBaron164 18 Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 I have the Windows HDHomeRun application installed and have not been able to find a way of disabling a channel. If I go to the web interface I can look at the list of detected channels and then I can change the icon next of the channel between white star/gold star/ and a red circle (that I assumed would disable it) but then after re-running the refresh channel/guide/cleanup database tasks the channels are still listed in the guide.
Doonga 17 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Go to my.hdhomerun.com. Click on the link with the number of channels shown up top. Star the channels you DO want shown. In Emby, click on the tuner in the Live TV section and select Restrict to channels marked as favorite That should do what you want. (I think.) The annoying part is if you suddenly get new channels they won't be starred so you won't know they're there. 1
RedBaron164 18 Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 Ok, I think it has something to do with the order that I did things and it might also just be a case of needing to be more patient. I first marked a bunch of channels with the red circle symbol on the HDHomeRun Web interface. Then I ran the refresh channels/guide tasks, Followed by running the clean database task, I also rebooted the Emby service just to be on the safe side. After about 5 minutes the channels were removed from the guide listing. Doonga - thanks for that idea, I was going to do that before I noticed that the channels started to disappear.
Doonga 17 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Hmm... I might have to spin up a Windows machine. I like the way you did this better than what I did. The web interface for the HD Homerun doesn't allow you to block channels.
RedBaron164 18 Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) Here is what the channel lineup on the HDHomeRun web interface looks like for me now. I marked the weak/unreliable channels with the red circle. Edited May 25, 2016 by RedBaron164
Doonga 17 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Oh duhhh. I never clicked a third time for the red circle. Learned something new! Hahaha, thank you.
