neylon79 0 Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Hi, i have used emby in the past and am looking to possibly use it now, but haven't been able to find any definitive answers about some live tv features. I'm using TVheadend right now as my backend. Can I get timeshifting in Emby for fire tv? Right now I use KODI which works perfectly for timeshifted live tv, pause, skip back and forward all work as they should. The real issue is watching a show that is currently being recorded. I do this with football games all the time and some longer shows, just to skip commercials and catch up live. In kodi, if 20 minutes of a 60 minute show have been recorded, when i select the recording, only 20 minutes shows in the bar. I can watch past that point, but sometimes the playback stops when i hit whatever the live point is, and I have to start over, pretty annoying. I used to use serverwmc on a windows machine, which properly showed a 60 minute time bar, 20 minutes that were recorded were greyed, and that bar grew as the recording progressed. When you got to live TV in the recording it just played, no issues with it stopping or restarting, etc. It was just like a set top DVR should be. Problem was, my windows PC always had to be rebooted for no reason i could find, so i switched to Debian, which has never had to reboot. So when you watch a recording in progress, does emby display the full length of the show you are recording, or only the amount currently recorded? Can you watch past that point, and what happens when you get to the point where you are live? thanks
