JohnnyM 40 Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 A few days ago I was using Metadata Manager to change some info. Scrolling thru the movies starting with the letter "S", I found the movie MI-5. I remember adding this to Emby because it went by two different names and I decided on "Spooks - The Greater Good". Much to my surprise the metadata had changed. On further exploration, I found that a high percentage of the "Overviews" that I had entered into Emby had also been overwritten. The fields for Studios, People and Genre have also been changed because I only enter 1 Studio and quite a few movies now have multiple studios list. Now I know that Luke has stated many times that they do not overwrite local data and if I did it, I was totally unaware of the consequences. I do not think I did anything to cause it. I do admit that I do not have my movies "Locked". The data is changed and I want to bring it back. I have the original data and I have XML files with the original information in them. So I reloaded my backup XML files into the Movie folders and ran a Scan of the Library.. Most everything reverted to the original except for Taglines. None of the taglines were restored. My question is specifically "How do I reload my Taglines metadata back into Emby from my XML.backup files?" My XML file input. (partial) <ProductionYear>1997</ProductionYear> <RunningTime>121</RunningTime> <IMDB>tt0118548</IMDB> <TMDbId>66</TMDbId> <Taglines> <Tagline>Corrupts Absolutely.</Tagline> </Taglines> <Genres> <Genre>Crime</Genre> <Genre>Drama</Genre> <Genre>Thriller</Genre> </Genres> <Studios> <Studio>Castle Rock Entertainment</Studio> </Studios> All the other pieces of this XML file were loaded into emby accurately So I went into Metatdata Manager and manually enter the tagline and clicked save. The tagline stays and this is the partial XML file Emby created. Partial XML file Emby created. <ProductionYear>1997</ProductionYear> <RunningTime>121</RunningTime> <IMDB>tt0118548</IMDB> <TMDbId>66</TMDbId> <Taglines> <Tagline>Corrupts Absolutely.</Tagline> </Taglines> <Genres> <Genre>Crime</Genre> <Genre>Drama</Genre> <Genre>Thriller</Genre> </Genres> <Studios> <Studio>Castle Rock Entertainment</Studio> </Studios> I see absolutely no difference. I can only come to the conclusion that there has to be an error in Emby code that does not read or load the tag for Taglines from XML. I'm on Server version 3.0.5983.0 Any help on reloading my backup data (taglines) would be appreciated. I tried to attach my complete backup XML file but for some reason it an error that the upload failed. I can tried again if it is necessary. Johnny M PS I really like the taglines as presented in Theater and I really like Theater as a replacement for Classic. I didn't like depending on Windows Media Center
