ET Skips to Next TV Episode?

I've bought Blurays of Game of Throne seasons, and ripped them to MKV files using MakeMKV. When I play an episode, it seems to get about halfway through, and then suddenly it will skip and begin playing the next episode.

ET is version 2.3.5 (running on Windows 10 Pro version 1511), and Emby Server is version 3.0.5934.0, running on a server (also using Windows 10 Pro version 1511). The media files are held on the server, and accessed as local files (e.g. E:\Recorded TV\Game of Thrones\Season 01\S01E01.mkv)

The same MKV files are also being used by a Plex server running on the same server, and accessed via Plex Media Player Preview running on the same client PC as ET. I do not see this skipping behaviour in the Plex environment.

I've attached a log file. The skip occurs at around the timestamp of 2016-05-19 20:50:48.8404. I can see that playing is stopped, and the next episode is opened for playing.

Thanks.

we have an autoplay next episode feature which should be aborted when the previous episode is not actually completed, so i'll add that.

but the reason for the skip in the first place is likely a playback failure. does it have subtitles? we're currently chasing an issue related to those.

Subtitles could well be the issue - I usually have them turned on because I can't understand Dothraki...

Go into video settings. If the video renderer is Evr+, then use Evr or Madvr for now and that should clear up the failure while we're figuring it out. What GPU do you have?

Thanks - it was EVR+, so I'll try the others. The GPU is an AMD Radeon R7 200, using Driver Packaging Version
15.30.1025.1001-151129b-297237E. The CPU is an Intel Core i5, with its own GPU (not being used, I hope).

Haven't had a cance to check things further, but thinking about the issue, I'm pretty sure that it was indeed connected with subtitles. It seems to have been the case that the playback would stop (and skip to the next episode) when the scene would shift to the Dothraki - so presumably when subtitles would be used to translate Dothraki into English. I noticed that when playing in Plex, subtitles would automatically appear for such scenes, but in Emby, no subtitles would be present, unless I specifically turned them on, and then they would be present for the whole episode, not just for the Dothraki scenes.

My wife watches a bunch of stuff with subs (external srt) - and she's mentioned that ET will occasionally start playing the next episode before she gets to the end of an episode.

You should start a new thread. Detail your experience and specify which version of the app that you're using.

It's fine, he sent me logs. Generally this means the player reported an error so it moved onto the next item in the play queue.
