88fingerslukee 2 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Forgive me if this is posted somewhere else but I simply cannot find it. I have a certain ISO image that doesn't stream on any client. Attached is the transcode log as well as the relevant parts from the server log. Can somebody please help? server log.txt transcode error Log.txt
Luke 42077 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Hi, our ability to transcode ISO's is highly experimental. It is not going to work with all titles. Please be aware though, this does not impact your ability to use ISO's with apps that support them natively, such as htpc apps.
88fingerslukee 2 Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 I had an issue like this some time back, i just recoded the movie in question HandBrakeCLI -Z "High Profile" -i input.iso -o output.mp4 took 10min for a full lengt movie. Does this preserve the menus on a disc with multiple videos?
Luke 42077 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Does this preserve the menus on a disc with multiple videos? No, plain video files do not support menus. The idea would be to extract each video from the disc independently. Ultimately it comes down to whether you want all the features of ISO, or the broad compatibility of mp4. That's your trade-off to consider. Or you can certainly do both.

So what would be the best recommended method to rip, store and access a DVD like what I'm trying to use? This is a fitness DVD with multiple workouts. Emby doesn't seem to allow me to put multiple videos under one movie title. Edited May 19, 2016 by 88fingerslukee
Luke 42077 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 When a dvd/bluray only has a single video file inside, that's when it has a good chance of working very well. When it has multiple vobs/m2ts, that's when we have to try and get ffmpeg to do things it's not designed to do and then we have trouble. You could try the naming guide for movies which goes over how to have main movie video file and then extras, all in the same folder https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Movie%20naming
