Playback on local machine?

hI, I used to use media browser 2.6 to play my movies in windows media centre. ive installed emby server and media browser classic but it wont play local files. it just wants to connect to a server. how do i get it to playback files stored locally?

No, I think everything is on the same machine so he's confused at why he has to connect to a server. that's my guess at least.

Have you setup the server, added the libraries, scanned the media, and  hecked that everything is showing up in the server web UI? Only then do you want to bother with the client app.  It's pretty well useless until those steps are done.
