Xenobi; 0 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Just as the title states, I have no real reason for remote access and would like to disable it. Noticed last night you just type the remote IP in and have the ability to delete files and download stuff. My bad on not realizing this for so long. Anyway I have a password on it now, but I rather just be able to have the it open with out the easy pin when I want to watch a movie in WMC. Thanks.
Tranquil 94 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Just dont forward your ports on your routers NAT to Emby, then your Emby instance is not reachable from the internet. Is that what you want?
Beardyname 198 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 to add to this, disable upnp as well. (guessing you did not actually forward the ports yourself) and upnp did this for you. server dashboard --> Advanced -- > uncheck - Enable automatic port mapping afterwards restart emby and your router.
dcook 299 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 UPNP is very very dangerous, and should be always disabled right away. How they got away with approving UPNP and having it enabled by default is beyond me as its such a huge security risk.
