codenamegamma 4 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 ok, so i have sevrel series where whats listed on TheTVDB is not correct. for example. http://www.tvrage.com/The_Powerpuff_Girls/episode_list/3 - This is what my files look like. http://thetvdb.com/index.php?tab=season&seriesid=76200&seasonid=9891&lid=7 - This is what emby wants to sort as. thats fine, its not like i havent done, The Powerpuff Girls - S03E01-E02, but at the end of the season the order pairs are completely different, so unless i get a tool and split the episodes apart, and then do them one by one it wont work. ive also had issues with TheTVDB listings being completely wrong, ending with me having to rename episodes manually before i sort, them. for example this current season of American Dad is listed as Season 13, while the ones im getting are listed as Season 12. Regular show, is already on the new season, yet the episodes im getting are still adding on to the previous season so, i have to look up these problems shows, and rename manually for Emby to sort them correctly. does anyone have a fix for this or any idea what i can do.
Luke 42085 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Hi, why not use the metadata editor to make your corrections after the server pulls in tvdb data?
codenamegamma 4 Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 i dont want to run the risk of the files in the directory's having one name, while being listed as something completely different in the database. on top of that its it would be a pain in the ass to do that for multiple episodes, having to redo or manually type in name, descriptions, and screenshots and whatever else. i get that this powerpuff girls situation is kind of unique, but still i dont get why it seems like 2 different groups, are using 2 different databases that have different listing, when really it should all be the same.
Luke 42085 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Ok I understand. Have you checked MovieDb, because we also support that for TV metadata. Also check TVMaze. We don't support it yet but it's coming in the not too distant future.
codenamegamma 4 Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 yea, TVMaze is right, it matches my powerpuff girls, and its also right with adventure time, so it seems like its more correct to me. here is Adventure time, and it matches online releases. http://www.tvmaze.com/shows/290/adventure-time/episodes heres the madness they're doing on thetvdb http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=152831&seasonid=663205&lid=7 so now that i know, im welcoming TVMaze support. i do see that they dont have everything, but at least its a step up. when i was setting up Back in the Media Browser 2 days, i had this issue with They're setup of the Shows "Tokoyo Mew Mew / Mew Mew Power" and even after begging for them to fix the dam listings they refused me. https://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=14617&p=55552&hilit=mew+mew#p55552 it was from a while ago, but i linked the TVRage listings, and if im not mistaken thats what i had to force mediabrowser to fetch with to fix those two particular shows. was that not the case and im going crazy? or where there more options for metadata then there are now?
Luke 42085 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 I think media browser 2 just used tvdb but not positive on that.
