Backup plug-in : Cast and crew data

Hi,

 

Recently @@Luke announced in a post that only new movie added with new movie ID would have cast and crew pictures and data downloaded. It's ok I understand that it was a big bandwidth issue for data providers...

 

So I think that the backup plug-in really has to have an option to save the "people" data, even if it's very long. I'm an experimented user so I save my old server directory before doing a fresh install. But for any user it's not an evidence and they will loose people data...

The backup plug-in is designed to back up the configuration of your server, not your media or metadata.  There are other general backup solutions that could do that.

 

However, you aren't going to lose anything with your people.  The information will still be downloaded, it just won't be downloaded all at once in the beginning.  It will be retrieved as needed.
