JohnnyM 40 Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 This started yesterday when I noticed I had a Chapter Extraction Failure. I examined the log and found that it failed on a Concert MKV file ripped from a DVD. It stated " Stopping chapter extraction for Celine Dion - A New Day because a chapter was found with a position greater than the runtime." That made sense but the error that followed was about "Django Unchained". I deleted the Celine directory to eliminate that error. Extract Of the Server Log. Server Log-Chapter Extraction Error 1.txt The Movie Django Unchained is part of a collection "Tarantino". My collections were "Folder [boxset]" and I converted them all to the new methodology two weeks ago without to many issues. This movie wasn't on the drive mentioned in the error so I know it can't find it because it isn't there but I can't find where the link is to create the error message. I move the movie to the drive it was point to and the error went away but another cropped up. See the bottom of the Log server-63598478434.txt. Same type as above but a different movie. This log is after I deleted the Navarone collection and the two Navarone movies. There is still a link somewhere in Emby servers database that point to the old collection and is stopping the chapter Image extraction. I have checked the metadata and there is no collection or movie data in it. I have run multiple scanned and database cleans to no avail. I have run out of places that I can think of where an old link from a prior "Folder" collection is stored and can be fixed.
pju 10 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Wonder if it's the same problem as I'm seeing. My chapter extraction also breaks down with the same type of error. And the movie is also part of a collection. I renamed a directory and the new name is reflected correctly in "Collection.xml" (if that is still in use) and the movie plays fine from Emby. But, chapter extraction fails on the old name. I do btw really not understand why the whole extraction stops because of missing directories. It should just skip them and get on with the rest.

JohnnyM 40 Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 Luke Look at the server log that I attached @ 2016-05-10 12:11:42.7468 My interpretation of the log looks like it could not find a file and the task failed. JohnnyM
Luke 42083 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 it appears to be a dvd rip and so it is looking for the vob files.
pju 10 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 According to the logfile the extraction fails immediately. server-63607540517.txt Sorry it's in Danish, but so is my media center, hope it helps anyway. "En del af stien '\\nas-01\Videoer\Film\Action\--- James Bond\On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) [No-CrashPlan-Backup]' blev ikke fundet." matches "Could not find a part of the path '\\WORK\Movies2\Navarone Collection [boxset]\Force 10 from Navarone (1978)'." I of course cannot say that it is due to the missing directory - but then there is another problem with the extraction.
pju 10 Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Is the missing response a signal of - we're to busy to answer or, - we don't care ? My chapter extraction does not work at all and has not done so for quite a while. No new movies have chapters extracted.
Luke 42083 Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 HI, chapter image extraction works just fine. Keep in mind that for a dvd folder rip structure, anything we do with ffmpeg we only consider to be experimental because ffmpeg does not support them natively.
pju 10 Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Hi, Think things are being mixed up here. My problem looks like the one JohnnyM raised, but maybe it isn't the same. I don't know why you say it is a DVD rip. The file I attached on August 23 just points to a "System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException". Which is correct - the directory does not exist. My main problem is that the chapter extraction stops totally. As seen in the logfile: "Chapter image extraction Failed after 0 minute(s) and 2 seconds". Which is impossible with the number of movies I have. It's OK with me if DVD rip does not work. But I am not getting chapters extracted at all from new .wtv files created my by Media Center. It used to work - but has now stopped. Should I raise a separate thread on my problem ?
