Stan64 0 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) I'm trying to stream media from my computer to Rabb.it. I set it up one night and it worked like a charm. The next day and the day after that I couldn't look at videos longer than 20 minutes. There were always an error around that time. Version 3.0.5934.0 Tried to delete the library and add it again, restart the server and the computer. Nothing helped so far. Here are the logs. The error I think is the culprit happened at 01:41:54. 2016-05-10 01:41:54.9867 Info HttpServer: HTTP Response 500 to 208.83.7.32. Time: 919216ms (slow). <webadress> I can navigate fine in Rabb.it and it streams for a good 919216ms before it cuts the stream. I think they use Firefox. transcode-fde8b03b-8502-4123-b762-ba743cd3b2d8.txt server-63598437999.txt Edited May 10, 2016 by Stan64
Luke 42081 Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 How does Rabb.it affect it? i don't really know what to say as the logs look fine to me. One thing you might try is disabling transcoding throttling in the server dashboard under playback -> transcoding.
Stan64 0 Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 I dunno if it affects it really. It probably set's up a virtual machine with a browser that you use. I tried disabling the setting, still have the same problem. Did two plays in a row, one with old settings and one with new settings. New logs. Turned off the server directly after. server-63598437999.txt transcode-90401122-785b-4796-9efc-2a2717136761.txt
Luke 42081 Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Thanks, I didn't think that would matter. Can you see if it reproduces in another browser such as Chrome? thanks.
Stan64 0 Posted May 10, 2016 Author Posted May 10, 2016 (edited) It only seem to reproduce from Rabb.it. Tried it out on another browser through the web (Firefox) and it worked fine. As well as from the same local computer (Chrome). Worked all good and dandy. Edited May 10, 2016 by Stan64
Stan64 0 Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 Ok. It seems to work everytime I allow notifications... I'll do some more testing.
Luke 42081 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Interesting, although in my opinion that is probably coincidental.
Stan64 0 Posted May 13, 2016 Author Posted May 13, 2016 Yeah, it was. Now it just seems to be random. Sometimes I make it through and other times there are an error. We just pick it up 15 minutes into the episodes. But I'm giving up on this. Going to try alternatives. Sorry about that.
Luke 42081 Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I'm looking at changing the transcoding format for firefox for the next release, so that will have a big impact. You can try it out on the beta channel tomorrow.
Stan64 0 Posted May 15, 2016 Author Posted May 15, 2016 No change. The solution I have now is that it's always like 15+ minutes in so I just choose to start it 15 minutes in. A bit of a pain but yeah. You want me to run some debugging code in Firefox next time or what? Trying to watch a couple of series with a friend over the service.
Stan64 0 Posted May 15, 2016 Author Posted May 15, 2016 Here they are. I dunno which is which. One is for the first time I started an episode and the other when I started it 15 minute in to see the rest. Same for two episodes. remux-1a4b8e16-508d-4ee7-86a2-58c7f8c22e1f.txt remux-87cd34dc-d622-41f8-9f2e-f78f4169af79.txt remux-664f3645-45af-47e7-94a3-f196f680436f.txt remux-e108a138-ae62-4faa-a39c-6ef33ca2811d.txt
Luke 42081 Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Ok, sorry, I don't really know what to say. I don't see any obvious emby-related issue here, and as you said earlier, it was fine in the standalone browser.
Stan64 0 Posted May 15, 2016 Author Posted May 15, 2016 Hmm, I think it has something to do with how the connection to rabb.it servers work. It drops the video after a set amount of time ever time. It would be the Emby web interface that fails at some part on certain set-ups. And in this case rabb.it. You could just set up an account at rabb.it and try to stream some movies from home and see if you can reproduce it. You have full access to firefox browser at the virtual machine and could easily write some debugging code. Transcoding seems ok but it's when it's pulling data it suddenly stops after 17-18 minutes almost every time. 8/10 times.
