How to direct play strm files?

Hello,

I want my .strm files to be played directly (always linking to mp4+aac files) or at least that Emby is not ALWAYS transcoding them.

I guess the problem is that Emby does not collect mediainfo for the .strm file. Is there any way I can manually edit it or something like that?

I hope you can help me out :)

Hi, unfortunately right now you can't edit that media info. It's an area for improvement in the future. Thanks.

Hello, I am also very interested in editing media info for my strm files so that it does not need to transcode everything.

Any update regarding this?

Hello,

Enby is still doing transcoding for .strm files which link to files which could be directly played.

Any way to edit this?

Hi,

I have a similar issue when using live-tv streams from tvheadend.

Tvheadend streams are playable as they are, however (no matter what resolution I choose) , Emby starts using ffmpeg causing  high cpu load.

Is there any way to 'just show the incoming stream'?

Thanks!

Ok, done. I posted under 'live tv', although this threat seems to address a similar issue. (and it is under linux).
