Wiped system, Emby recreating ALL data, WHY?

I had to wipe my system today because a laptop I was working on for a client had a nice virus that decided to jump the network and infect my system.  It was awesome.  So I am reinstalling Emby, and I set my libraries up again and I am expecting everything to just work, and it's not.  Emby wants to rescan every file and recreate every single bit of metadata for every single file, while keeping the originals in place.  I have the majority of my items on my amazon cloud drive, so scanning takes forever, even with my 100mbit connection.  Why is this happening?  I had a hard enough time sorting all my anime the first time I setup Emby, and now it wants to redo everything all over again.  Is there any way I can use the files that are already there?

Hi there. Please ask your questions politely, and we will kindly respond and do our best to help you. Emby is using your pre-existing metadata, but it does have to re-probe audio, video and photos for raw media info that is not stored in metadata files. What I'm referring to is the information that we need in order to ensure that basic playback functions such as transcoding will work properly. Thanks.

Sorry for the post Luke but I was in a pretty horrible mood considering what had happened.  Things were made worse in the fact that the backup configuration plugin has apparently refused to run since January, so I lost a LOT of information.  The server appears to not be using any of my old data at all.  The only items that have their images and information are ones that I have manually refreshed.  I have scanned my library several times, and still, none of my artwork is showing up, none of the metadata is showing up, except on the items I have manually refreshed.  ie you click on an item that has no artwork and there is no information about the file whatsoever.  Click on something I have manually refreshed and all the data is there.

How can I fix this without having to manually refresh everything?  Over 1500 movies, and 1600+ series with 12-100+ episodes each.

i would just delete the server's library.db file and let is scan the library again.

Where is that file?

Shutdown server and navigate to %appdata%\Emby-Server\data.
