ryzilla 13 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Hi Guys Ever since i installed ET, i had lag in voices in pretty much everything TV related. HD Blue-ray seem to be ok. An example on a normal 1.2gb TV rip the voice is around 1sec out. If i open the same file in MBC or VLC its fine. Any ideas on where to start looking first? Cheers
jsbarde 10 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 I seem to be having this issue too. I swapped over to MADVR and match refresh rate and it helps..but sometimes it's just out of sync, earlier builds of ET didn't seem to have this issue for me, just started happening in the last few weeks. When I use VLC no issues.
ryzilla 13 Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 yeah seems to be. any ideas this a fresh os install
ryzilla 13 Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 any ideas anyone im lost without my emby lol
Luke 42078 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 in video settings there is a choice of three different renderers, try each one.
ryzilla 13 Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 ok great will try when i get home thanks boys
AdrianW 1058 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 If you have a digital connection for audio (hdmi or spdif) then make sure you've set your audio to bitstream.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I get audio lag when I use MadVR with refresh rate switching or if I just set my TV to 24Hz with MadVR. I don't get it at 60Hz on the monitor with MadVR but of course I get some annoying juddering issues. If I bump the video prcesing on the TV to 240Hz I get no audio issues and no juddering so that's been my solution. Your specific hardware and rendering settings will vary of course but the point is it can be a bit complex sometimes to shove 24FPS content through a computer and get good results at the end.
ryzilla 13 Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 Thanks all i got it working by changing the following. My setup is HDMI from my server to the TV then TV via SPDIF to speakers Set to EVR+ Disabled MadVR and set sound to HDMI and now all in sync
Luke 42078 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Well done. Those settings sound pretty close to application default
ryzilla 13 Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) yeah Luke not show how these got changed. One thing to note is i did a full uninstall ticked remove all traces but it kept that config there too. so until you manually re changed them it stayed. Edited May 19, 2016 by ryzilla
Luke 42078 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 We should just remove all settings and it will always just work.

Luke 42078 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I don't really have a problem with users making their own mess. It's when they make their own mess and assume it's an Emby problem is something we have to contend with.
ryzilla 13 Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) I wasn't blaming Emby at all i assumed this was a community where you could come and ask these questions for help? One would assume that a full uninstall with a option "remove all traces" would remove these options. Sorry not as skilled as you guys in this area Edited May 19, 2016 by ryzilla

I don't think you were blaming Emby for the issue. You had an issue and asked for help. Not to speak for Luke but it appears that he has been troubleshooting a lot of non-issues as of late. This leaves him less time to work on my real issues.
Luke 42078 Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 @@ryzilla @@jsbarde @@the1legend The next release of the app will feature improved performance, hardware acceleration, and better multi-monitor support. If you'd like to try it out ahead of time you can do so here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/46763-theater-mpv-test/page-1 Enjoy.
