soundsnake8 27 Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 I have using Emby Server v 3.0.5933.0 and had problems with it changing the names of my TV episodes from the name in the folder for example, from Breaking Bad - 08 Seven Thirty-Seven to Breaking Bad Season 2 or 3 or 4 depending on the folder and season (just an example) many many other examples so to stop this from happening I went into the dashboard, home, TV Series and meticulously edited each name back to the names in the folder I then unchecked the green box ...NAME... to keep it from being over written. It was very time consuming ! but it has worked until today I saw the upgrade to v3.0.5934.0 and checked update in a matter of 30 seconds it had re-checked all the green boxes and reverted back to all the names that I changed a week ago It did not save any settings I had it just changed it just changed them all back to default. I did however make a backup with Macrium Reflect which I do two or three times a week and immediately changed it back to where it was. My question is why is this being allowed to happen ? Why does an update change my setting I have worked so hard to to make my HTPC look and feel just the way I want it to ?
soundsnake8 27 Posted May 8, 2016 Author Posted May 8, 2016 It listed correctly on the top line path but unless I uncheck the green box It will leave off the name and change it to Breaking bad season 2 disc 2 or what ever season and disc number it was originally. unchecking the green box keeps it from changing the name but as I mentioned updating to the new server build checks all the green boxes.
Luke 42085 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 There's no way that going from 5933 to 5934 would have removed the locked flag on the Name field, so it must have been something else. The locked flag is stored in metadata so maybe another program touched it. In any case, it's not normal for that to happen, so I would say if you continue with using that lock then that should be fine.
