No video when playing form android app

Looks like the Android app is now playing videos on my phone without needing an external (VLC) player, however the AndroidTV app (beta) still displays a black screen with audio playing when using the internal player. Playing with an external app (VLC again) does work, although it doesn't remember the position of a video if you stop watching part of the way through.
