after the most recent server upgrade i have noticed something a bit odd. i will often use the metadata manager to add roles to the actors in different series (since my metadata scraper only seems to grab roles from imdb and not tvdb) not a big deal really. but with the latest upgrade the metadata manager no longer seems able to save these changes to the series.xml file in the series folder. the real puzzler though is that the changes i have made are still there in the manager, even after a restart. so is the manager saving series data somewhere else now?

XML was removed from the core server a long time ago.  You have to add the XML Saver plugin from the catalog and go to the Metadata-Services and for each content type ensure it is set to save to xml.

crap, i dropped all plugins a while ago to try and track down a different problem. must have had this xml pugin and never even noticed losing it with all the focus on trying to track down the previous problems source. thanks. will grab the plugin and try again. still wonder where the changed series metadata is being stored now but it's not really important if i can get it back to saving in the xml in the series folders again.

it would be series.nfo inside the series folder, unless you disabled nfo saving
