Hello,

I have found this thread because my 49PUS6501/12 (german/eu) with Android TV does the same. The DLNA browser loads indefinitely when clicking on the emby DLNA server. Gerbera and the Fritz!Box Media Server work fine.

The User-Agent the TV reports is "Linux2.6/0.0 UPnP/1.0 PhilipsIntelSDK/1.4 DLNADOC/1.50".

The DLNA log looks like this (strange, the log parts have 10 minutes in between the connection and the DLNA session creation. (Or they were different sessions and some loglines got lost).

I have a slight technical background and would like to help you analyse and test this issue. Please tell me how to proceed.

This issue and this thread have existed since 2016, and there is no indication that it will be resolved anytime soon. The issue is present in Emby and its derivative code in Jellyfin, suggesting that the root cause likely originates from Emby. However, it appears to be a low-priority issue because Philips is not a popular brand in the US market.

My only suggestion is to use a third-party application like VLC to access content from the DLNA server.

My I ask why do you need DLNA on Philips AndroidTV nowdays? Device limits have been overhauled abt. half a year ago, you're getting 5 free TV device slots now, why don't you go ahead and use native client app?

Hello and thanks for the tips. Actually yes, I likely can use the Emby with Android TV as an app. Just I found that this doesnt work and if I can contribute to make a software or a plugin (DLNA plugin in this case) more compatible, then why not. I have a slight technical background, so if any developer would be interested in debugging this deeper in direct cooperation, I want to offer my help. If not, thats not a problem. I have another DLNA solution that works fine with the Philips TV as well as the possibilities of running Emby directly as well as on a FireTV stick or similar.

  • Thanks 1
