Cast and Crew Images Not Showing

Howdy everyone!

 

So I am seeing this odd issue. I already had an emby install on my old server.

 

I installed a fresh copy on my new server, and started importing my media. Everything seems to be going well, but I am running into one odd issue. While it is pulling the meta data for the movies, back drops, posters, etc, it is NOT pulling images or bios for the actors and such. This is a fresh clean install, not an upgrade of the software.

 

I read through some posts on here, but am not finding much joy for the answer. All the paths are correct, and under the people folder, it is making folders for each actor, but just an people.xml exists in each folder. no images of them.

 

Is this a bug of some sort?

 

Any help would greatly be appreciated!!

There's a "Download all images in advance" option under Metadata/Advanced/Images in the admin interface, not sure if that's the issue or not, but if you don't have that ticked it won't download certain images until they're required.

When you bring up a person in an app, do you then get the image and other information?

 

If so, then everything is working properly.  Going out and downloading tens of thousands of images that you may never even see is an unecessary load on not only your server but also the free providers of this data that we use.

 

So, I suggest leaving the setting at default.

It looks like once I let it go again over night (this new server instance has been importing data for the last 5 days, it started to populate. I guess I needed to just give it more time.
