sgf 1 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I have a weird situation where my Win7 WMC build will not play back my recorded TV through Emby for WMC. The same recordings will play in Emby Theater on Win7/8/10 as well as Emby for WMC on Win8. Also, the Win7 machine will play back Movie ISOs and MPGs without any problems. My setup is as follows: 2 - HDHR Primes MCEBuddy conversions using HDHRUnprocessed and Comskip. I did some searches but could not find a match to this. Any/all help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Hi, Emby for WMC just passes the video off to the WMC video player, so it doesn't really have much to do with the app. Chances are you are probably missing a required video codec or there's some kind of issue with the ones you have installed. Our general recommendation has always been to install LAV Filters. If you don't know what any of this means, Emby for WMC relies on the WMC video player, which in turn relies on Windows supported media formats. Installing LAV Filters can help increase the number of formats your system can play.
sgf 1 Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) Gave that a try - no dice. To give additional detail - the videos begin playing then proceed to skip at a seemingly random interval. Sound and video seem to be in sync for the intervals between skips. <edit> Well, narrowed it down, definitely not an Emby issue. Thanks for the pointer. Trying to understand the differences between my Win7 and Win8 configs.... Edited April 30, 2016 by sgf
