Luke 42078 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 i don't get the real logic behind the sorting in the search but it seems on first view to be alphabetically in large and so starting with an 'O' is not on top so nothing to blame to tmdb the 'Legende' results i completely don't understand but when you search for the original title 'legend' its magically the second result -> https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=legend Thanks, and yea Legend is good but we don't have that information. All we have is the video file name which is Legende (1985).
josch.hh 2 Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) ^ this are 2 movies Alien 3, Autómata are missing the cover <-- both work as they should here (btw official german & original title of 'Alien 3' is 'Alien³' which also works ) --> not working for me with default settings Legende (1985) is identify with "Det legende menneske" which sounds like netherlands to me <-- confirmed, also "Det legende menneske" is from 1986, the correct one would be -> https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/11976-legend ^ it's there -> https://www.themoviedb.org/search/movie?query=legende&page=8 <-- 8 of 16 (319 Results) Oben (2009) is identified as "Die Erde von oben - Artenvielfalt" <-- confirmed, the wrong identified "Die Erde von oben - Artenvielfalt" is from 2008, the correct one would be -> https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/14160-up same here -> https://www.themoviedb.org/search/movie?query=oben&page=2 <-- 2 of 3 (44 Results) Madagascar 2 (2008) is missing any pictures <-- works as it should here -> not working for me with default settings #9 (2009) is identified as "Distric 9" <-- works as it should here -> not working for me with default settings ^ after identified you have to hit 'refresh' ('aktualisieren') -> 'complete refresh' ('kompletter refresh') to update all fields What you described is not working here at all (only pictures are updated nothing else) -> is this really working on your system? @daedalus: on which OS you run emby server and which version? @@Luke for the tolerance year maybe server sould search "twice" and use the tolerance year only if nothing was found in the first run with the given one Edited May 1, 2016 by josch.hh

Exact, and as it is working for example within kodi one could check their source code to see how they are successfully identify all thoses movies ;-)
ebr 16182 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Exact, and as it is working for example within kodi one could check their source code to see how they are successfully identify all thoses movies ;-) Kodi is probably (illegally) using IMDb and we are using tmdb.
josch.hh 2 Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 (edited) Kodi is probably (illegally) using IMDb and we are using tmdb. I dont think this the reason: plz see post: #20 Edited May 1, 2016 by josch.hh
josch.hh 2 Posted June 4, 2016 Author Posted June 4, 2016 So i am not the only one realizing that emby is weak in scraping movie metadata: http://www.htpcbeginner.com/plex-vs-emby-comparison-with-kodi/2/ See chapter "Scraping Accuracy"
