Hi,

There are a lot of filters available and we can do every possible filtering combinations today with that.

Still one missing, the possibility to filter by country. Today there are a lot of local productions and it will be fun to filter for instance all movies coming from China, Russia or France!

Think would be great!

Do you think you'll be able to implement this soon (Depending on you stack)?

More than one year, always considering it for a future release?

Bumping this one.

Shouldn't it be possible to use the original_language and/or origin_country from https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/find/find-by-id ?

Usage would be to have e.g. Swedish Metadata for Swedish movies and series, and English for all other languages. Would also be great if we could multi-edit movies/series by selecting them and edit this once for all affected within the folder.

A great additional feature would be to in the library section be able to select different metadata language, e.g.

If Original language = Swedish - Download Swedish metadata

If Original language = All others - Download English metadata

Group/sort/filter by Country for Music Album Artist and Artist (even if Country has to be manually added to each Artist in a designated field).

Would also make an excellent filter for Music Album Artists/ Artists / Composers.

MusicBrainz assigns an Area location to Artists. Perhaps Emby can read this?

If this was not possible, being able to manually add the Country would still be a great option!

Of interest - where can we get country locations and languages used for media?

imdb.com has listings where a film was shot and languages used.  Is everyone aware that access to this data requires a subscription fee?  Here are example service packages and annual fees.  It looks like they start at $50,000 US per year.
 https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/seller-profile?id=0af153a3-339f-48c2-8b42-3b9fa26d3367

Writing code that goes in and scrapes data from an online account page is a violation and subject to legal actions that could incur fines and maybe even the loss of domain or other serious problems.

Of course, this kind of information is publically available, directly from the production company of each media.  In order to find that data, someone needs to go, one title at a time, to the online production site and read through the notes on locations.

They will come from the providers (if available).

Example TMDB will list multiple tags for country (origin_country, production_countries) and language (original_language, spoken_languages).

Grim,

Dune production company is in the US, but the film was shot in
Austria, Hungary, Jordan, Norway, Slovakia, United Arab Emirates

I don't see that info in the TMDB dbase example.  Is the request here to include film locations or just production office?  On a film shot internationally, I think it's nice to know the locations.  User's can search for some film from Italy or wherever.  The languages are listed at TMDB, so that is nice. But, no locations.

I would understand this request to refer to "origin_country," don't think anyone (or at least maybe only a fraction of userbase) would filter by locations where the movie was shot.

Ditto for "original_language".

Filtering on anything save those criteria would make those filters practically useless with too many hits.

Thank you? You've been writing the show since 2016..8 years? That's a lot...You're doing nothing

Hi @Luke

Any chance we'll see this very old request (filed way back in 2016) of adding country of origin to the movie details page as well as a filterable field in the movies overview?

HI, yes it's certainly possible. Thanks.
