Hi,

i started to use emby recently

This evening I noticed that with splitted movies (usually ending with CD1, CD2), the server seems to recognize apparently the additional part but it didn't load the data of the second part.

Example Movie is

Amadeus (1984) ITA - CD1.avi (lenght => 86min)

Amadeus (1984) ITA - CD2.avi (lenght => 88min)

and the server loads only the lenght and infos only from the first part.

The problem afflict also emby for kodi because the server is unable to comunicate to kodi the existence of the second part.

Below you find 2 screenshots

please let me know if this is not working only for me ..

server v 3.0.5931.0

win 7-x64

ok, thanks

it was important understanding that it was not me  :)

maybe a guide is not necessary but i'll post it anyway if someone is lookin for help in merging video files

the tool is mkvtoolinix and it supports a lot of video/audio/subtiles formats

at the end of the process, you'll have a single mkv file (as known, an mkv is a simple media container)

https://mkvtoolnix.download

Drag and drop 1st part of the movie on it, select the file, right click mouse, Append Files and append the 2nd part of the movie

You'll have something like this :

If you wanna you can put also subtitles, drag and drop the first part and click ok

Now you can append the second part of the subtitles (right click on the subtitle file / append files)

Choose your output destination and file name

Click on Start Muxing and you'll have a mkv with cds and subs merged (there's no conversion, the process is very very quick - less than 1' for me to a computer in lan)
