mobamoba 12 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Emby is adding files for a show that doesn't exist. I physically deleted it from the hard drive months ago, including the directory, the entire thing gone. However, with the most recent update, Emby is "finding" it somehow even though it's not there. A library rescan doesn't help, and I really have no idea why Emby keeps adding this show when there are no files or directories at all associated with it. I've attached my logs and the show is called "Doctor Foster" and I get the following in my logs over and over: 2016-04-25 07:05:36.0680 Info App: Removing virtual season Doctor Foster2016-04-25 07:05:36.0680 Info App: Creating Season NameSeasonUnknown entry for Doctor Foster2016-04-25 07:05:36.1075 Info App: Removing virtual season Doctor Foster2016-04-25 07:05:36.1075 Info App: Creating Season NameSeasonUnknown entry for Doctor Foster2016-04-25 07:05:38.2770 Info App: Removing virtual season Doctor Foster2016-04-25 07:05:38.3010 Info App: Creating Season NameSeasonUnknown entry for Doctor Foster2016-04-25 07:05:38.3120 Info App: Removing virtual season Doctor Foster2016-04-25 07:05:38.3180 Info App: Creating Season NameSeasonUnknown entry for Doctor Foster I wanted to report this bug and was hoping someone might be able to tell me how to solve it without deleting my entire Emby database and starting all over from scratch. Thanks.server-63597139200.txt
mobamoba 12 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Yes it appears in my TV Shows as if it's an actual show with cover art and a bunch of nonexistent episodes stills as well. It's not in Metadata Manager since there's not actual files for this show on my hard drive.
Luke 42085 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 then i would just use the delete function to delete the entire series. since it's an old series it probably doesn't have the same data attached that a newly created series would have. that might be preventing the cleanup processes from removing it. if you add a new series, delete it, and it happens again, let us know. thanks.
mobamoba 12 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 Okay on looking at it more, I think it's an Emby Kodi bug so I'm going to report it there. I was mistaken when I said it was showing up in the web UI; it's only showing up in Kodi. I'll open a ticket in their thread thanks.
Luke 42085 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 No the above activity is coming from the server so there's definitely an issue server-side. It's hanging around in the database for whatever reason.
mobamoba 12 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) Let me correct something then because I mispoke (mistyped?) about the problem. i have two users who are unable to see to each other's libraries and whose libraries are actually completely separate directories - there's no overlap whatsoever. User A deleted "Doctor Foster" a few months ago. User B didn't (they both had separate copies of the show). In the past few weeks, Doctor Foster began showing up in User A's Emby/Kodi (it gets added and deleted on its own regularly as you can see from the logs). Just now, when you asked me to delete it, I went into Kodi for User A and deleted it - remember, User A no longer has any of the files - and it deleted it from User B's physical directory. Because I was nervous that might happen, I'd made a backup copy beforehand, but there's the gist: somehow, User A is getting access to a single show from User B even though Emby has been set up such that neither has access to the other's library nor to do they share physical disk directories. Do you still think it's a server-side thing or should I report it to Emby/Kodi as well? Edited April 26, 2016 by mobamoba
Luke 42085 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 If there is no trace of the issue in the web interface, then yes, it sounds like an issue that is limited to Emby for Kodi.
Angelblue05 4132 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) User A and User B are added to the same kodi device? Or are they different devices? If the latter, then make sure you don't have the same device Id associated with both devices. What if you run a manual sync? Does it resolves the issue? Maybe an old entry that's saved in the fast sync plugin server side? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited April 26, 2016 by Angelblue05
mobamoba 12 Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 No only User A has Kodi access. User B is in a different state and occasionally views over the web not Kodi. Manual re-syncing does nothing nor does a full reset of the Kodi library (the one you can do within the Emby plugin that starts the whole syncing process from scratch) as the show adds itself back from User B's folder eventually on its own. The only way to remove that show from User A is to remove the show directory from User B or remove User B's library entirely from Emby. However, the moment User B's library is readded or the directory is put back into User B's folder, that one show appears in User A's Kodi. It's very strange because all the other shows in User B's library are correctly ignored by User A's Kodi. It's also constantly being readded. I'm User A. If I forget to close the web interface, I'll get web alerts all day about SeasonUnknown show being added to Emby. You can see from the log that this keeps happening on its own. Is there anything I can do to help debug this better? Also, I don't know how to move a thread from one place on this board to another, so if it should be moved elsewhere, perhaps someone could do that from behind the scenes?
