Recorded TV not Direct Playing

I posted something in the FreeBSD forum but I also thought I'd try here.  Since the last update a lot of my media, specifically recorded TV, is transcoding.  Do need to check the "Convert to MP4" or will Emby record the HDHomeRun stream in the required format to direct play to the Android client?  Also, why is this a new problem?

If you are on the Google platform, one of the few shortcomings of the new player there is that it cannot seek a .ts stream.  Therefore, we transcode them in order to make them seekable. 

 

Using the convert to mp4 feature would solve this problem because we can direct play and seek that format.

When it converts to mp4, does it maintain the original DD 5.1 audio stream?  If it does, I think I'll start using that as well.

At the moment it converts to aac, but i'll add an option to preserve original audio.
