actor image cache

i just noticed one of my actor images was a picture of the anime character he voices. i have replaced that image in my people folder and refreshed actors but emby still uses the old image instead of the new. i am assuming there is an actor image cache somewhere i have to delete and ave rebuilt? if so ten where might this be located?

if you click into that actor and edit them, what is the path displayed? is it the same place where you put your image?

you can click and edit them? i assume this is on the server side and not in emby? if it's in emby then i had no idea editing actor images was possible. when i click on the image i just get a search of all shows/episodes he appears in. i do keep my people folder on a separate drive and not in the default location but i am pretty sure that's where it's pulling the images from, just not accepting the changed picture for this actor that i put in there. i have added actor images to this folder that were missing for other shows and have had them show up no problems. i assumed it was because there were no image/folder for the other shows and there was an image for this one (the wrong image) and so emby just isn't bothering to look at the new one and is using a cached older one?

once you open the page for an actor, click the dot menu -> edit

is page for an actor referring to the cast page in emby or the people area in metadata manager? i have no idea what you mean by dot menu tho.

open a movie, then click an actor, then on that screen click the button with 3 dots

ahh, i see what your getting at now. i went into there and that has the correct image. emby cast image is still the one i deleted long ago though. tried deleting the image and reloading it and that seems to have done it. there has to be a cache of images for actors somewhere though since before this the cast dialogue was using an image that no longer existed. very odd. anywho, that seems to have fixed this little problem AND i learn of yet a third area where i can access actor info that i was unaware of. a satisfying day all round. thanks for the help Luke. sorry i wasn't cluing in on the dot menu thing

I assume all of this is in the web client.  What browser?  Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

the web client had the correct picture, it was emby classic that seemed stuck with the older already deleted image

You could delete the EMC imagecache folder.

deleting the imagecache finally did the trick, just as well since i found many other anime voice actors who have their character image instead of their actual image on tvdb. starting fresh with all the corrections i have made so far is making tracking down the remaining ones  lot easier. thanks
