Kode 52 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) Content The new fanart.tv site is currently under heavy development, at launch we hope to have a bunch of new content we can start drip releasing out over the launch month, Emby is one of our bigger users (around 10 million hits to the API a month), so I thought I'd post on here to see if any of the Emy community would be interested in contributing content to the site. It could be movie reviews, tv show reviews, music artist featurettes, but especially articles about Emby, news about Emby, tutorials on setting up Emby, Guides on setting up Emby on various devices, basically anything movie / tv / music / tech / Emby related that our users would find interesting. I'm hoping by launch to have 40 - 60 articles ready to go so we can put out 1-2 articles a day and give us some breathing room to get new content. Parallax Images Luke messaged me about the possibility of adding parallax images ala apples feature, it's something I'd defintiely be interested in and if you guys would be interested in us adding it then I'd like you to pop over to #fanart.tv on freenode so we can hash out the details, such as proposed sizes, amount of layers, etc. Translations We are looking for help with translations, the new site will be multi-lingual from the get go, we are pretty well covererd for spanish (have had 4 people request to help with the spanish translations), but anything else we need help with. Developers We are also looking for developers interested in helping out with the site, if you would like to help us bring this project to life (there is still a lot to do), then get in touch with us! The new site is being built with the following technologies - Laravel 5.2, Postgre 9.5 (though this isn't set in concrete at the moment), jQuery and SASS, so if you have have any experience with these, or think you can bring something else to the table then we should definitely talk! In addition, if you have experience maintaining networks, linux, dedicated servers, virtual servers, load balancing, SQL, backups, amazon s3, elasticsearch or vanilla forums we would love to hear from you as well. Get in touch The easiest way to have a conversation about all this is if you pop on to our IRC channel #fanart.tv on freenode, but you can also message me on here and I can give you gtalk/hangouts/email info. Kode 52 Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 Also here is a VERY unfinished sneak peek at the new site so far (well the homepage) http://imgur.com/BmgBHXG @@Angelblue05 might recognise the logo at least. I told her that she had won the competition a long time ago, but real life reared up and bit me (aka super busy at work, a wedding and 2 kids) and everything got seriously delayed and put off, but I'm making a serious effort to get it all back on track. 2
Angelblue05 4132 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Nice! It's starting to look awesome Keep it up @@Kode Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
theusedversion 36 Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Love your site and have used it on several occasions outside of Emby to source images for my covers collection. I have a question that I hope is ok to ask here. Why stick with the odd aspect ratio on your images? I spend a lot of time on TMDb and I have noticed on several occasions that a lot of times, images on your site are just stretched or squished (not just cropped) to fit your aspect ratio. Why not stick with the 2:3 ratio like most places? Btw, your tutorials are amazing.

I'm not 100% sure why that size was chosen, I think it had something to do with it being the same resolution as a DVD case, that said I'll bring it up at the meeting today.
