Smaky 131 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Is there a way to modify the sort order of a boxset? I have created a boxset with over 90 items underneath it (shortcuts) and found the items show in the web client with no apparent sorting order. 1
Redshirt 1487 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Yuck! I don't like the way the 100% RT rating deforms the grid layout.
Smaky 131 Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 Yup.. that's another one I noticed. I just did not realized it was because the 100%
WWWestern 94 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 What, "Sort name:" field does not work for the corresponding movies anymore?
Smaky 131 Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 Well, the (Sort) / (Filter) button are no showing up as soon as you browse into the boxset.
steve1977 67 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 That's a good catch and probably needs to get fixed. One somewhat related question - how did you create the boxset above? Manually copying all the files into the folder? How is your folder structure?
Smaky 131 Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 I created a "Top 250 [boxset]" folder in my media server. Then simply added shortcuts to the movies (which are scattered throughout different 'Letter' folders in my video library. Thus the boxset folder only contains shortcuts to the actual movies.
anthonynguyen 0 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) I just installed MB3 yesterday (I got bored on New Year's Eve)! I absolutely love it, and I am working on re-organizing (organizing for the first time) some of my movies. The sort order is frustrating for the movie box sets. It appears that the sort order is based on the year or release date of the movie. That's fine for the most part. But like you, I would like to be able to sort by name or something else. For example, my Star Wars Collection shows on the web client as Episode 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3. I would prefer the order as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, so I went into the metadata and listed the "sort name" to match the episode number. But no luck. Definitely looks like sort is by year/release date. Is this something that needs to be requested as a feature? Edited January 1, 2014 by anthonynguyen
Smaky 131 Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 Well if a request is needed... I´m all for it.
Luke 42077 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 no need. for a future release i'll add the sort order to the edit page so that you can pick it and apply it to every device. apps are still free to have their own sorting menus to choose something different but this would allow you to set the default on the server 1
lurch9366 16 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Thanks Luke Just one more great feature of MB3 that makes it my personal favorite.
Smaky 131 Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 Thanks Luke... MB3 continues to evolve so wonderfully.
