RanmaCanada 500 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Updated to the new build today, and this is all my Emby states. I've waited and waited and waited. Restarting the PC, restarting the program, nothing works. Did this update bork my install, cause I can't connect to it, nor can any of my users. This is frustrating. How do I roll back without losing anything? All my server logs say the installation was successful, it obviously is not.
Logos302 86 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 (edited) it can take hours (depending on how big your DB and how slow your HD is) you need to let it finish. But a log and previous version and new version build numbers would also help. I let mine go all night and it was finished in the morning. * edit - this is information is from previous updates and DB upgrades. but still very relevant. I haven't upgrade to 5930 yet. RanmaCanada 500 Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 (edited) I upgraded to 3.0.59. There is NOTHING in the changelog posted that it updates the DB. WTF. A god damn warning would have been nice. All server logs say is that the upgrade completed successfully. Well word of warning to everyone. Don't freaking update. *the database update is NOT in the changelog, but on the blog page* Please put it in the changelog. Edited April 18, 2016 by RanmaCanada
drashna 47 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Wow, don't be a dick dude. You clearly didn't get it, but I had a notification about a dabase upgrade, before updating. Did you bother checking the Emby notifications? Or did you just update without bothering to pay attention. Emby Server 3.0.5930 Released Important: This version will perform a database upgrade after installation. This process could take a little while. Please be patient.
Luke 42085 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 It's in the release announcement: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/blog/1/entry-300-emby-server-305930-released/ Thank you for your patience.

I checked the changelog, like any normal person would do to see what new features and our changes would be added by this update. There was no mention of it in the changelog that such an update to the database would be happening. Something like that SHOULD be in the changelog. It only took 2 hours thankfully. On a side note, the new interface skin looks great. I look forward to having my friends abuse this and put my system through its paces. Thank you for your hard work Luke and Company.
IcarusNZ 0 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Hey there folks, my server updated a couple of days ago. It has been sitting on 35.07% on the Server Database upgrading phase and halted. Tried reinstall and restarts but alas no effect. Any ideas how to resolve?

Tried reinstall and restarts but alas no effect. Any ideas how to resolve? Make sure you don't have "MBPlus.dll" in your server plug-ins folder. If you do, delete it. 1
IcarusNZ 0 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Thanks for the reply but alas the file does not exist for me to delete Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. regards
Luke 42085 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 i would just wait and allow it to finish without bailing on it.
IcarusNZ 0 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 How many days should it take? Still on 35.07% third day
Luke 42085 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 if you're convinced there's an issue, you can always provide the server log by seeing how to report a problem. But you said you've done several restarts and reinstalls so we don't know how long you've actually run it for.
