Can I rename folder paths without delete/add

So I had to rename my windows pc serving emby. Is there a config file somewhere that I can just edit the paths for the various library sources to reflect that new name in the path? ie //embyservier/tv1 is now located at //new_name/tv1

No, afraid not.  All our internal IDs are built off of the full path so you will need to re-build the library.

 

Watched states should be okay though as they are stored by global IDs.

Thanks! Seems like this is one of those 'global changes' that it'd be nice to handle in a basic way without having to recreate.

 

Follow-up question tho: Does this mean that all the various metadata that I've had to fix in the past I'll have to re-fix or is the system able to keep track of those things? I'm thinking of shows where there are a few with the same name and my system always seems to find the wrong series...

If you store the metadata with your media it will carry over fine.  This is one of the reasons we highly suggest you do that .
