Hi, I've just started using Emby, please note I am not a computer whiz at all and I try and figure things out as I go along as much as I can. I've set everything up fine but I am finding that each time the computer restarts or is shut down, I have to manually run the MediaBrowser.ServerApplication in order to get the server working. is this normal? I think I'm just missing some setting somewhere but I have searched and searched to no avail. please help? also, I have probably used the wrong words/terms for things because I am not totally aware of what I'm talking about. :0 I'm using Windows7 if that is something you need to know.

Hello and welcome. In the server dashboard under Advanced there is a setting to run at startup. Let us know if that helps. Thanks.

Hi

thanks, that has fixed the problem. it's now loading whenever I restart the computer. is it supposed to come up with that 'loading version blah blah blah' with the green bar across it each time or is there a way for it to just happen in the background? I just want to check it is doing what it's supposed to do. thanks so much though. What a fast response.

I believe that you can't hide the loading splash screen.

Sounds like your server is running exactly as it should! Sweet!

Hi, yea you can't hide it, but it should go away quickly. Enjoy.

If you run Emby as a Service, you don't get the splash screen at all.  At least I never have.

yea but if you're not familiar with windows services then i would just keep it simple and use the tray.

thanks everyone. I might not mess with anything while it's working now. I can deal with the screen thingy.
