Fresh install but save users

Hi All,

I've had my current Emby install running since June of 2013 (beta line) and I was thinking of doing a fresh install, but I was wanting to save my user data. If I were to preserve these user data files can I insert them back into the fresh install? Emby folder instead of MediaBrowser-Server I would assume.

"C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\data\users.db"

"C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server\data\userdata_v2.db"

Any other tips on doing a fresh install?

Thanks,

Vidmo

Hi, welcome. yes you can do that. No other tips needed as you should be fine. Let us know how it goes.

I re-installed the server and set it up fully. Then shut it down and replaced the users.db files with the originals. Everything went fine, the only change I had to make was to remove some of the libraries from users that did not originally have them.

One side note, I typically move items around on my start menu and the installer would fail trying to un-install Emby (MB) because it could not find the shortcuts. I had to manually insert the shortcuts back in the location that the installer was looking for for the un-installer to work. Maybe provide the installer some leeway that if it cannot find the shortcuts just run an un-install anyway.

Thanks.

Thanks, we'll take a look.

Thanks Luke. Also if you move your Emby shortcuts you'll get the server complaining it can't find them in the logs as well. No big deal, but I don;t like errors in logs if they don't really mean anything. ;)
